Goodnight Moon

For Valentine's Day my mom gave us tickets to the theater! The kids were very excited! Mommy and Daddy were thrilled because we both love the theater. (Yes, I said it, Mike really does love the theater.) The tickets were for the matinee performance of Goodnight Moon at the Dallas Children's Theater on February 10th.

Here are a few pictures of the kids right before we left. I did not bring my camera to the show, but I made a note that I will next time. They allow pictures with the cast after the show!
We really enjoyed the show. The show had 2 acts and lasted 1 1/2 hours including the intermission. (Overall the show was probably 10 - 15 minutes too long at the end for 3 year olds.) Can you believe they turned that book into a show that long?! The kids were really good considering it was their first visit to such an event. As the first act began and the scenery was revealed, Caitlin looked around carefully for a minute and then she leaned over and wanted to know where the bunny was. She did not realize that the man jumping around was supposed to be the bunny. She finally got it after a few minutes. It might have made more sense to her had the bunny actor started in the bed like the bunny does in the book. LOL! Caitlin says the moon part at the end was her favorite part. Dylan laughed out loud several times. He says he loved the red balloon part the best. Mommy and Daddy loved the tooth fairy in drag the best, but we also got a kick out of the bunny making up lots of excuses to avoid bedtime!! It was like someone was spying on our house at bedtime!
Does this ring a bell to anyone?!
I need to go potty. (for the third time)
I need my lamp on.
I need my blankie.
Read me another book. (I already read 10.)
I need a book in bed. (You already have 20 in the bucket next to your bed.)
I'm coughing. (fake) I need medicine.
I need to hug mommy again. (already did twice)
I don't think I kissed mommy. I need to kiss her again. (already did, but mommy doesn't mind that one!)
I still have food in my teeth. I need to brush again. (already brushed two minutes ago, nice try, but not gonna work)
There are toys in my room. (Ever heard of kids that won't sleep with toys in their room? Too bad that doesn't help at clean up time.)
I want a different stuffed animal. (even though I usually sleep with that one)
I need a drink. (so do mommy and daddy)
