Gingerbread Man Visit

Here is a letter we wrote about our visit with the Gingerbread Man.

Dear Ms. Matteo’s Kindergarten Class,
Howdy Y’all from Texas! A couple of days ago we were surprised when we heard a soft knock on our front door during dinner. When we opened the door, a very tired little Gingerbread Man greeted us. Apparently, he had run all the way from Ohio to our house in Plano, Texas. We welcomed the Gingerbread Man into our house, and invited him to join us for dinner. Luckily, we were eating a delicious chili dinner and we had plenty of food to share.
During dinner, we told the Gingerbread Man all about XXXXX and Texas. Here are some of the facts we shared with him. XXXXX is a large suburb north of Dallas, Texas. In 1845, Texas became 28th state to join the United States. Texas is the second largest state, after Alaska. The capital of Texas is Austin. Many people call Texas The Lone Star State; if you look at a picture of the Texas flag, you will see it only has one star on it.
The Gingerbread Man was so excited to learn about Texas that he begged us to take him for a drive to see the sites. After our tour, we stopped near our house and took a few pictures with a cowboy and a longhorn. At one point, the longhorn tried to take a bite of the Gingerbread Man, but we saved him just in time.
Later that evening, we invited the Gingerbread Man to stay with us for a while, but he said that we were only one stop on his adventure. As he left to continue his travels, guess what we heard him laughing and saying, “Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me! I'm the Gingerbread Man!"
We truly enjoyed our visit with the Gingerbread Man. We are not really sure where he has run off to this time, but we thought we should update you in case he hasn’t returned to Ohio yet.
Please tell our cousin, Ben, hello for us! We miss him, and we cannot wait to visit him this summer!
Your Texas friends,
Dylan & Caitlin
