I started this blog for 2 reasons. First of all, I wanted to share pics of our kids with family and friends out of state. I also started the blog to document some things about Dylan and Caitlin since I do not do a great job journaling. Here are a few recent stories and quotes:
I was cooking dinner Wednesday night. Dylan and Caitlin asked to go play in the backyard. After about 5 minutes:
Dylan runs in smiling and says: Mommy, I broke the tree.
Me: You did what?!!
Dylan: I broke the tree.
Me: How did you break the tree?
Dylan: I was sitting on a branch and it broke.
Me: You were sitting on a branch?
Dylan: Yeah, I climbed the tree, sat on a branch, and it broke.
Me: Are you okay?
Dylan: Yeah, but the tree is broken.
(Mimi, I still blame you for that one! For those of you that don't know, my mom loves to climb trees. Her nickname was legs when she was growing up because her legs were always dangling from a tree!)
___________
Dylan and Caity together: Mimi, look! Someone moved the doorbell lower! We can reach it now!
___________
Caity: Mimi, I think I'm going to get sick.
Mimi: Why?
Caity: Because mommy fed me too much beans.
___________
D to Caity: Stop singing, Caity!
Caity: Why?
D: Cause it hurts my ears!
___________
Dylan: Holy cow, Avery spilled the water!
(We are still trying to figure out where he learned holy cow.)
___________
Dylan to Caity: Don't do that to me 'cause I'm fragile.
___________
Dylan occasionally sings to himself in bed. Often the song begins - When I was a little boy...
___________
Dylan went to see Mo Willems at the mall. During the visit the little girl next to him got to talk in the microphone. Dylan is still very upset that he did not get to talk in the microphone. Next time, he says he WILL get to talk in the microphone. Can you imagine Dylan with an audience and a microphone? Oh man, we would all be in trouble! :-)
___________
Ms. Amy said the only word she could think of on Thursday to describe Dylan was "rascal". She said he was 'completely out of character' and into everything. (Let's hope this is not the beginning of a new side to him! He has been the model student up to this point.)
